I.   Lay Provincial Council Meeting, Oakland, California, June 23, 24, 25, 2006.

      On June 23, 24, and 25, 2006, the delegates from the various Chapters in the Western Dominican Province of the United States met in Oakland, California for their annual Lay Provincial Council meeting.  One of the proposals offered to the delegates was the revision of The Particular Directory.  The proposed document was very well done.  However, there was one proposal to change the title "prior" or "moderator" of each chapter to the title, "president." 

      The Blessed Margaret of Castello Chapter's opposition to the proposed change was articulated in the letter attached here.  See links below.  The letter explains well the problems with the change and why the Chapter is working to maintain its usage.
